Praised
as "masterful" (composer John Adams), "lyrical and "haunting" by Marc Geelhoed (Time Out Chicago),
the music of internationally performed American composer Kirsten Broberg (b. 1979) has been performed or commissioned by top ensembles and performers around the world.
Her work is deeply personal and intimate while exploring the concept of time and space and highlighting
transformations of timbre, texture and varying levels of resonance; spectral harmonies; ornamentation; and micro- and macro-gestures
on the surface and within the structure of the music. As one of the most prolific and active composers of her generation, Kirsten Broberg
writes music for solo to large ensemble acoustic instruments and voices, electronic music, music for multimedia collaborations
and music for film.
